We have used owner vacation rental properties around the world, and this is one of our favorites. It combines a great location, in the historic bay waterfront of Newport with an unobstructed view of the bay, with a very clean, cozy and well-appointed apartment. We look forward to coming back.

What a wonderful spot. It was absolutely perfect for us, exceeding what we hoped for…in fact, we were so comfortable here we found ourselves out walking, exploring, much less than we would normally do.

The location is ideal; we loved the view of the bay and being in the center of the historic district, but “above it” – very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our afternoons sunning on the deck. We particularly appreciated how clean and well appointed the apartment is – it had everything we needed. Clean/Cozy/Comfy/Convenient – Perfect week and perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.

Have stayed in VRBOs in: Lake Almanor (CA), Granada (Nicaragua), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cape Cod (MA), Spain, Istanbul (Turkey), Chicago, San Francisco, Washington (DC), and Newport (OR)…And this wins top honors!

Just walking along the boardwalk out front & watching the fishing fleet come and go – sea lions barking, pelicans, etc. It has been truly wonderful. I felt very at home… Thank you for a wonderful place! I would love to come again sometime.

The Jacuzzi bath, the tapas (Bay 839), and the pelicans…Thank you so much! We were happy to return “home” every time we came back. The place is very cute. It felt like home right away.

The place is great! Fun location right on the bay where you can walk to restaurants, book store and the beach and watch all the fishing boat and seal activities. There is a great deck that we were able to use. And inside was nice, as it looked recently updated. The fireplace was used to take off the chill. Highly recommended!

What a perfect place to stay and focus on writing! It was fun to watch the fishing boats head out and in each day & all the activity on the Bayfront. Despite the cold weather, it was pretty cozy inside (at least while sleeping & sitting near the downstairs fire!)

The bed was comfortable. A toaster oven would have been great for baking/cooking, (owners note: we have added one!) and to those who are wondering – the silverware is in the island.

Great views – loved it! Thank you.

Wonderful Place! Really enjoyed the sights & sounds of the fishing harbor. Great location in the midst of all the action. Star attraction was all the sea lions! We walked everywhere. Thanks again. Weather was so nice we even enjoyed the deck!

Awesome place! Great rate, nice people, convenient location and cozy space…we had a blast on our stay & the apartment was a big reason why…  we enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Sail Inn! I would recommend this to anyone.. we will be sure to come back & stay again…

David (owner of Sail Inn) was extremely nice & accommodating. Every year we have looked for a place to stay near Old Town (owner’s note: Bayfront) – this place is charming & the sea lions didn’t bother us in the least.
