Our Policies - Questions & Answers

 

Q: What is required to make a reservation online or by phone?

A: Secure your reservation with any major Credit Card, Postal Money Order, or Personal Check. Currently we are not excepting Credit Cards online, but are working to have this up and running for our customers very soon. To secure your reservation please call (541)574-8880 or (541)444-7111. The name on the Credit Card being used must match the name of the person making the reservation. Personal Checks and Money Orders should be mailed to Sail Inn 134 SW Bay Blvd Newport, OR 97365, and must be received at least 48 hours before your arrival date.

Q: What payments methods do you except when paying in person?

A: We except all major Credit Cards, Cash, Postal Money Orders, and Personal Checks. If paying by cash, Money Order or Personal Check, a Credit Card is required. Your card will be authorized for the full amount of the rental and returned to your card within 48 hours of departure.

Q: Can I change my payment method, or use a different Credit Card.

A: Yes, you may use any of the payment methods listed above by submitting them in person when you arrive, however a Valid Credit Card is always required. If you pay in person by Cash, Money Order, or Personal Check, your new card will be authorized for the full amount of the room, and the previous card used will have any authorization released.

Q: Am I allowed to cancel a reservation that I made online or by phone?

A: Yes, reservations made online or by phone can be canceled no less than 48 hours before your arrival date. In order to cancel we request you call us at (541)574-8880 or (541)444-7111 . Cancellations can not be completed by e-mail. Deposits made less than 30 days before check in are refundable in full with written cancellation notice of at least 48 hours before check in. Send all request for deposit refunds directly to David@SailInn.info. Include your full name, address, and method of payment in your request. Deposits made 30 days or longer in advance of check in will be refunded in full with a minimum 14 day advance written cancellation before check in. If you do not cancel your reservation in accordance with our cancellation policy, you will be charged for the full amount of your stay and payments made in advanced will not be refunded.

Q: Why do you require a Credit Card in addition to my Cash payment, Check, or Money Order?

A: This is a standard policy used world wide to prevent property damage, theft, undeclared pets, and to cover any additional charges you may incur during your stay. The Credit Card used must match the name on your drivers license.

Q: If I change my reservation, will I still get the same rate?

A: You may remove nights without affecting the rate; however, if you want to change arrival dates, we cannot guarantee the rate will be the same. In this case we recommend contacting us to find out if rates are the same for your new arrival time.

Q: Is my personal information safe and secure on your web site?

A: Sail Inn & Cafe is committed to protecting your personal information and maintaining your privacy. We will never share your information with anyone. Information submitted via our web site is transmitted in a secure fashion, and is not seen by third parties. You have the right to access, correct and delete inaccuracies in your personal information at any time by contacting us. You may request we remove any trace of your information from our records. Sail Inn & Cafe only uses your information in order to support and facilitate our Check in and reservation process.

Q: How can I make special requests regarding my stay?

A: Special requests can be made when making your reservation online, by phone, or e-mail. Special requests are not guaranteed and will be honored depending on availability at check-in, but we will do our very best to accommodate the request. Q: Do you offer handicapped access or ground level rentals?

A: The Sail Inn & Cafe was not built to accommodate the handicapped and is not on ground level. We may have other rentals that will accommodate certain conditions. We recommend calling us to discuss your condition in order for us to determine if one of our rentals will suite your needs.

Q: Do you offer corporate, senior, or military discounts?

A: This depends on several factors, including time of stay, length of stay, and affiliation. Please inquire by e-mail to David@SailInn.info and tell us what discount you seek more information on, and if it may apply to your stay.

Q: What is the minimum check in age, and do children stay for free?

A: You must be at least 21 years old to check in at the Sail Inn & Cafe. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied and under full supervision of an adult of this age. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to stay for free.

Q: What type of pets do you except, what are the charges and your policy?

A: We except dogs under 45 lbs. Two pet maximum. Our pet charges are 10.00 per night per pet. Pets may not be left unattended at any time, both in vehicles and rentals. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outside on Sail Inn & Cafe property. Pet waste must be picked and disposed of properly. Pets must be declared at the time of check in. You will be charged 50.00 per pet, per night for undeclared pets.

Q: If I break something, or something comes up missing what happens?

A: Any damages and or missing items will be charged to the Credit Card we have on file. The charges and or fees are determined by us and can not be disputed. We will charge you for the current value of the item(s) in question as soon as discovered, and notify you at that time. The person who paid for the rental is fully responsible for all damages or missing items. You will be required to agree and except this condition at the time of check in.

Q: Do you allow indoor smoking, what is your policy?

A: We do not allow indoor smoking, and discourage outdoor smoking on our property. If you must smoke, please do it on the balcony as far away from doors and windows as possible. Do not throw butts on the ground, or put cigaretts out on any surface. You will be charged 250.00 if you smoke inside our rentals. This charge will be billed to the Credit Card we have on file without hesitation.
